These three technical skills, when combined with puck control, and properly developed, provide the foundation for players to play the game with speed, possession and creativity, qualities all players desire. These fundamental skills are the essence of SPS Hockey Development and developing skillful players is our principle objective.
Based in Ottawa, Ontario, SPS Hockey Development is a professional hockey development company owned and operated by Hockey Canada Skills Coaches, Brian and Zach Gillam. We work with players and teams of all ages and skill levels, as well as coaches and associations, to deliver high quality player development programs.
Our team has a wide scope of experience and background, including program design, high performance coaching, high performance player development, professional teaching and elite level playing. SPS instructors have conducted hockey development sessions and/or programs with Hockey Canada, Hockey Eastern Ontario and Internationally. They are committed to ensuring sessions are focused on achieving maximum results through highly organized and detailed training methods. Our training sessions help encourage players to get outside their comfort zone and transfer their skill set to the game context.
